About the Furniture

For over two decades Poly-Wood, Inc. has been designing and manufacturing timeless outdoor furniture that is classic in style and modern in make. Plastic furniture has always been a staple of the great outdoors, but Poly-Wood has gone above and beyond the norm by presenting the consumer with durable and comfortable all-weather pieces resulting in over twenty collections of long-lasting and reliable furniture. These collections vary in style, color choice (Traditional or Vibrant), and cushion options, but they all are proudly made in America and prove that "Going Green" has never looked so good.

These beautiful, performance driven, and eco-friendly furnishings have become popular the world over and in turn Poly-Wood Inc. has quickly risen as one of the most well-known and trusted manufacturers in the industry today. The very same thing that got them into the business is what brought them to the top, and that is the use of their innovative and famous "milk jug" plastic lumber. The characteristics of this material are both pleasing to the eye and to the touch making Poly-Wood furniture stand out and stand up in all outdoor environments.

What is PolyWood Plastic Lumber?

On the surface (both literally and metaphorically) plastic lumber is exactly as it sounds; solid dimensional plastic material that has the look and feel of natural wood. However, Poly-Wood plastic lumber has no wood or natural fibers in it as it is made from HDPE, which stands for High-Density Polyethylene. UV-inhibited pigment systems, foaming compounds, and selective process additives are sprinkled into the mix to create a final product that is impervious to all types of weather.

High-Density Polyethylene - HDPE?
  • The primary component material of HDPE is derived from post-consumer bottle waste. This is where Poly-Wood's lumber gets its famous "milk jug lumber" name from as items like milk jugs and detergent bottles as well as other HDPE post industrial material are what are collected and recycled to make the lumber.
  • These materials are cleaned thoroughly by a decontamination process of a high purity level. Contaminants such as food residue, paper, and adhesives are removed from the plastic material.
  • Once stripped down to its purest form, the material is then compounded into a rigid board stock material that contains over 90% recycled plastic by weight.
  • The addition of UV-inhibited pigment systems helps to reduce the fading of the plastic lumber over time.

We Recommend Poly-Wood Furniture!

The main benefit to buying Poly-Wood furniture over most other plastic furniture on the market today is because of the HDPE plastic lumber. This material is much heavier than typical plastic so there is no fear of your furniture blowing away or snapping in the wind as it carries the weight of a hardwood chair or table. HDPE products (which are what ALL Poly-Wood Collections are) have exceptional resistance to various corrosive substances as well as oil and fuels, insects, fungi, salt spray (which is why they're perfect for beach side) and other environmental stresses. In addition, Poly-Wood's innovative plastic lumber does not absorb moisture and therefore it will never splinter, crack, or rot.

In short, Poly-Wood furniture will be a low-maintenance high quality addition to your outdoor living space and will never require water proofing, painting, staining, or any other similar maintenance one might perform on their patio furnishings.
